We are all on a sliding scale. My relationships have been with women up until this point but it does not mean they will be for the rest of my life. I would not want to limit myself in that way — it would be utterly ridiculous.

— Freddie Fox about his sexuality

Frederick Samson Robert Morice Fox, better known by his stage name Freddie Fox, is an English actor who plays Freddie Baxter in both Cucumber and Banana. He was also interviewed for Tofu.

He is the son of the actor Edward Fox and his second wife, the actress Joanna David. His elder sister is the actress Emilia Fox.

While promoting the Channel 4 comedy in 2015, Fox said that he doesn't wish to define his sexuality, adding "I’ve had girlfriends, but I wouldn’t wish to say ’I am this or I am that’, because at some time in my life I might fall in love with a man." He also expressed that bisexuality is often misunderstood and that people can have meaningful relationships "no matter what sex they are."[1]

Freddie befriended Fisayo Akinade during filming, and he showed him around Manchester. They visited Stockport, the suburbs, and Didsbury, where Fox's character is from. As a non-Mancunian, Fox felt the accent was very important. He stayed in Freddie Baxter's voice the whole time, "even when I was at home with my parents. They didn’t like it at all, but they are actors so they understood!" [2]
