Josh is a young gay man with big dreams and the desire to escape the suffocating small town where he was born and raised in. Although he loves the hectic life of the city, he is also looking for love and he thinks he has found it in Freddie. Luke Newberry described Josh as "a bit of a prick".

Josh is a man with a lean body, strawberry blonde hair and fair complexion. His dark eyes are in stark contrast with the hair colour and complexion. Fashionable, Josh is very concerned about his outfits to the point of changing repeatedly throughout the day depending on his moodiness.

In Episode Five, Josh is sitting on the sofa in the boys' flat, after a night spent with Freddie, and is kicked out the flat by the latter, with Dean and Hanry laughing at him since they consider Josh just another deluded boy in love with Freddie.
